What has been the biggest surprise about pregnancy so far?
I am super healthy, I’ve been active my whole life. I was a wrestler for WWE for ten years. And...I just recently found out I was anemic, which is wild. I have a super high number, so I’ve had to do these iron infusions getting ready for the babies because you lose a lot of blood during the birthing process. So as a healthy person, that was a huge surprise to learn!
Best moment so far?
The best moment so far in my pregnancy has to be the first ultrasound. We did IVF, so we went in to see if we were going to hear one or two heartbeats, because we put two embryos and didn’t know if they were both going to take. As soon as my IVF doctor looked at the screen, I looked at her face and she held up two fingers. I felt like it was meant to be. I manifested twins, I’ve wanted twins since I was in high school! It was such an amazing moment hearing those two heartbeats.
What are things that bring you comfort during pregnancy?
Things that brings me comfort during pregnancy has to be food. I’ve always loved fast food…chicken nuggets, burgers, fries, the whole thing. I’ve eaten so much during this pregnancy! I’m very health conscious but my girlfriends told me to throw that out the window and to eat and do all the things and to think about getting back to my routine after the babies come. So that’s what I’ve done. Cakes, cookies, burgers… you name it.
How does being pregnant feel, in your own words?
Being pregnant has been the most amazing journey. I had no idea what to expect. People can tell you about how incredible it is, but until it happens to you and you’re actually in it... it’s just the most amazing feeling. I used to walk out into crowds of 60,000 people and millions of people watching at home and I used to think that was the most amazing feeling, but this is just the most incredible thing I could have ever imagined. Having two heartbeats in there… it’s just incredible. It’s just a dream. I am so blessed and so happy that I’m able to experience pregnancy, I cherish every day.
What are you most excited to share with your future child?
I am most excited to share with my twins — I know I talk about wrestling a lot, but it was my dream job. I am just so excited to show them old wrestling matches of their mom kicking butt. Maybe one day they’ll want to become wrestlers or even be fans.
How has being pregnant impacted you creatively?
I’ve always been into fashion, but being pregnant has brought out an entirely new creative vision with that. I’ve really dressed up my bump as much as I can. It’s the best accessory! I work with a lot of fashion brands so it’s been really cool to play with fashion during pregnancy. So fun to film styling for my instagram, finding that happy medium. I feel like Bumpsuit has found the perfect combination of sexy and cute for pregnancy. It’s been so fun to style with Bumpsuit!
